BIBLE TIME WITH CHARLIE

I started "Bible Time with Charlie" way back during the COVID days. One night, I was lying awake in bed wondering what to do with my life after everything had been shut down. Keep in mind, I'm an actor, so I was totally out of work when the pandemic hit because movie sets and theaters alike were all shut down. There was nothing to do! I was just about to start rehearsals in a new play, I had my first feature film coming out, and I was even working on producing my own films, and right in the midst of it all, the world shut down! Feeling lost and not sure which way to turn, I prayed to God asking Him what I should do. God responded almost instantly and He told me He wanted me to wake up in the morning and go LIVE on Instagram and preach.

Now, you'll always know it's from God when it's something you don't want to do! This was the last thing I wanted to do. Growing up as pastor's kid, I had always tried to avoid ever going into the ministry myself. I was always very strong in my faith, however going into ministry was not part of MY plan. So, I quickly dismissed the idea and tried to go back to sleep.

I couldn't. I laid awake, with my heart pounding thinking, "God is this really what you want me to do?" I knew the answer was yes. "I wouldn't even know what to preach!".

 

God responded. "I'll give you the words to say. Just go LIVE." God was not going to take no for an answer.

 

"But, Lord," I thought. "A lot of my followers don't even believe in you. What if they hate me?"

"Don't worry about that. Just do what I told you to do."

​

After that, I didn't hear much more. I knew what it was that I had to do. So I got up at 8:00 the next morning, got dressed, made some coffee, grabbed my Bible and went LIVE on Instagram to my 1,000 followers at the time. As soon as I went live, I knew immediately what to talk about. I encouraged people not to worry. This was literally the week that everything shut down during COVID, so nobody really knew what was going on. People were afraid. God kept telling me to tell everyone not to fear and that everything was going to be okay. I spoke for about 30 minutes. Many of my friends joined and found comfort in the words I had spoken from the Bible. God was right. This was something I had to do.

I decided to go LIVE every day, Monday-Friday, for the next 3 months. Many people received Jesus and asked questions through my Instagram Lives, and even I, myself, got closer to God by preaching His word. I called it "Bible Time with Charlie".

​

Once everything seemed to be opening up again in the summer of 2020, I stopped going LIVE every day, however, I began to preach at my church. My church never closed its doors during the pandemic, so I began working full time at my church, which was a great way to keep my head up, especially in those dark days. Many people found Jesus through my church at the time, and they also found comfort in knowing there was a place to go when everything seemed so lost in the world. In December of 2020, I was ordained as a pastor at my church. I always knew growing up I'd become a pastor eventually, even though I would try to deny it during my adolescence. This was a calling from the Lord that I could not escape from, so I decided to accept it and embrace it wholeheartedly. I'm so glad I did.

From 2020-2023, I spent a lot of time learning and growing in my faith. I attended hundreds of church services and even held some of my own. I continued to act and even started my own production company in which I still produce films and live events today. In August of 2023, the Lord told me through 2 different people, including my pastor, to start up "Bible Time with Charlie" again. Without hesitation, I started it back up. I decided to go all in and start up a YouTube channel, Instagram page, TikTok, Facebook, and all streaming services including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. I was going to get the Word out on as many platforms as I could!

Within 5 months, "Bible Time with Charlie" has amassed over 10,000 followers across all platforms and has reached hundreds of thousands of people. I continue to film new episodes regularly and allow the Holy Spirit to lead me when it comes to what I say and how I say it. I am very much enjoying this journey of ministry and I understand that this in only the beginning. I thank God every day for the platform He has given me and for the opportunity to do what we are all called to do: spread the good news.
